Crooks & Castles

I have always been a fan of C & C and the boys who carry this label are just as cool as they can get. As you might have already seen, they are supported by a wide range of celebrities. Just so you know, that is... The guys are real crooks. Hehe. I’ll leave that for you to ponder upon, hmmm. Anyway, I just thought it was funny how their new line of tee’s had some eye catching prints. Hey, I have nothing against Pharrell but man, the last tee is a funny one. No offence to Pharrell of course. Haha.

The Greatest of Them All - FUTURA

In one of our previous entries, we had an interview with Mike from PMKFA. Having chatted with Mike, I discovered that he had done an interview with none other than the greatest man himself: Futura, sometime in 2000. I was blown away when he mentioned an interview with Futura. This was because Futura rarely did interviews and is one who avoids the limelight.

In this entry I will abstain myself from posting Futura's personal details or his biography (which you can google for yourself). If I were to describe Futura in today’s terms, I would have to say that he is the Picasso of our cultured generation. Recently, I have learned a bit about Futura from people like Mike from PMKFA and Adam from Slam X Hype/Catalyctic Attack. Hearing stories of Lenny (Futura) and how he got where he is right now really astonished me. It shedded a whole new light on graffiti and the likes of it.

Here is a humble and gracious man who devoted his life to art, his friends and, at the age of 50, gained recognition and fame that he never really sought. Futura is now a celebrity who is too often mobbed for autographs where ever he goes.

However, Futura will be making an appearance at the Sneaker Pimps San Francisco on the Friday 4th of August. Good old Stash will be there too. For information about Futura please read 5th-Dimension Thread.
