Adidas Oddities - Spring 2007
These new releases from Adidas are a good example of how nice shoes can turn ugly... :(
"The new models announced by ADIDAS have already started to arrave on foreign shores. Amongst those announced are the ODDITY versions of the ADICOLOR High, Low, and the new Micropacer Silver. The good news for us Brazilians is that some of the models from this collection will arrive here in March, including a bacana beemm (?) version of the ADICOLOR High in marine-blue with stripes in croco-black. Something to wait for!"
I certainly won't be waiting for these, but the bacana beemm version of the marine-blue Adicolor High sounds interesting. Not too bothered that I don't live in Brazil though..

Air Max 90 'Stars'
This is the latest Air Max 90 to come out of Nike and is part of the 'Silver Stars' pack. It is like the little brother to the 'Croc Stars' which are also part of the same pack, and if u click on the link you'll realize why i say this. Personally i prefer these ones but only because i love the look of the Air max 90's. It's a pity they didn't include an 'over the top' material on the shoe (such as crocodile skin) because that would have been the selling point for me, but they still look pretty dam good and should be seriously considered as a great addition to your sneaker collection :D
Check out the stars on the inner sole (bottom pic). I thought this was a neat addition.

Sneaker Skins =D
With the increasing number of people owning popular electronic devices such as Ipods and the Motorola RAZR, sneaker heads can now rejoice at the chance to make their gadgets look individual, because secretly everybody knows that its cooler to be different ;-). Phase 9 Media has released some limited edition sneaker head skins for the Ipod, the Ipod nano, the RAZR and the Sidekick.
Now not only do these look awesome but if u look really close you'll realize that all that color is actually some very clever advertising for Nike :-P
Thanks to HighSnobiety for the heads up and Phase 9 Media for the pics.

Seed: Where The Sidewalk Ends
Seed Magazine is an online magazine that combines science with culture. The result is a truly original and unique view of the world.
Imagine a street with no sidewalk. Cars stroll at a leisurely pace alongside pedestrians moseying among the palm trees and granite columns. No white lane dividers, no bland asphalt. Sound like the future? At an intersection in Portland's Chinatown, it's already reality. This is truly contemporary design's victory over the modern problems.
"The idea of this street is that it's designed like a public square but it's open to traffic," said Ellen Vanderslice, a project manager for the Portland Department of Transportation. "We were very consciously trying to create a body language of the street that tells people something different is going on here."
