BKRW introduces the second series in the line-up for
Adidas' spring/summer '07 Originals Catalogue. Their objective is to bring out some of their strongest items from the Adidas archive to re-interpret some pieces and re-design others. I reckon Adidas have got something really cool going on here, and especially lovin' the sleek and sexy Micropacer.
Strider Lea - Launched in 1985, it's been re-created with a leather upper in authentic colours.
Decade Hi Lea - Made its first appearance on basketball courts in 1984. This is a hi-cut reproduction made with a leather upper in the familiar and much-loved colours.
Micropacer - Released in 1984, the Micropacer redefined 'running shoe technology' by incorporating a microcomputer. Now it's been reissued in a full patent leather upper with a matching Micropacer Music Case.
ADI Camo Jacket - The ADI Camo pattern was adopted from an original 80's ski-jacket found in Japan. Adidas chose a M65 military jacket to apply its old school pattern.
Pro Model Vintage - The Pro Model accompanied the iconic Superstar in 1969 and quickly became famous with its unmistakable shell toe. This version comes in a unique crocodile emboss--a classic model for all sneaker lovers.
I admit, these are HOT, and a salute to
Adidas for this 'cos I seriously had thought they were losing their touch. It seems that they're taking a different approach from the likes of Nike, New Balance and Vans (among others) and are continuing to release their shoes and apparel in meticulously and independently produced and marketed sales-lines rather than a creative free-for-all, which often, unfortunately, results in a lot of superflity and needless hype.
